Venezuela Aims for Long-Term Energy Cooperation with US

Venezuela's interim President, Delcy Rodríguez, has stated her commitment to fostering a long-term relationship with the United States, particularly in the energy sector. In a video shared on Telegram, she expressed her team's full readiness to establish a solid foundation for a long-term energy agenda with the U.S. The leader emphasized that resuming this path is crucial for both nations and will enable all investments to develop fully. Rodríguez recently held a productive meeting with a delegation from the U.S. Department of Energy, led by Deputy Secretary for the Office of Oil and Geothermal Energy, Kyle Haustveit. She also confirmed that her government has engaged with representatives from companies like ConocoPhillips and ExxonMobil over two months after reforming the Hydrocarbons Law to open the sector to private and foreign investment. However, she did not comment on the U.S. government's latest measure to lift sanctions on Venezuela's public banking system.
