Maduro from Prison Calls for Unity and Reconciliation in Venezuela

Deposed President Nicolás Maduro and his wife, Deputy Cilia Flores, from prison, made a new call this Sunday of Holy Week for unity, dialogue, and reconciliation in Venezuela. They published the message on social media, three months after their capture by U.S. troops. "This Easter Sunday is to forcefully say that this is the victory of life and truth," their message stated. Previously, on March 28, Maduro and Flores called for peace and national unity, assuring they were 'firm' and 'serene' in their first message since their arrest in Caracas in January. In March, a federal judge dismissed a motion to dismiss the drug trafficking case for which they are detained. Maduro faces four charges, including conspiracy to commit terrorism and cocaine importation. Flores, for her part, is accused of crimes related to drug trafficking conspiracy and weapon possession.
