Venezuelan opposition leader and Nobel Peace Prize laureate María Corina Machado stated on Sunday from the United States that she will return to Venezuela "in a few weeks" with the objective of "guaranteeing an orderly, sustainable, and unstoppable transition to democracy." In a video message shared on social media, Machado assured she wants to achieve a "grand national agreement" to ensure the country's governability and prepare for "a new and massive electoral victory." "For all of this, I am going to return to Venezuela in a few weeks. I want to do this as it is also desired by hundreds and thousands of Venezuelan exiles all over the world," she said. Machado denounced that the current Venezuelan government "are the same ones who have tortured and persecuted."
