Panamanian flag carrier Copa Airlines announced that its flight operations over Venezuelan airspace remain open, but are conducted with high levels of alert and caution, only during daytime hours. In a statement, the airline also said it is in constant communication with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which reiterated that it has not changed its official alert level or regulatory position. Copa Airlines advised passengers with flights to and from Caracas to stay informed through the company's official channels. Earlier, U.S. President Donald Trump had posted on his social media platform Truth Social, warning airlines and pilots to be aware that Venezuelan airspace 'will remain fully closed.' In response, Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yván Gil dismissed Trump's statements as 'colonial pretensions' and a 'hostile, unilateral, and arbitrary act.' In this context, Venezuelan authorities revoked the permits of Iberia, TAP, Turkish Airlines, Avianca, Latam Colombia, and Gol, which had temporarily suspended flights to Venezuela for security reasons. Besides Copa, Colombian low-cost airline Wingo also confirmed it was maintaining its operations to Venezuela.
