This Friday, January 23rd, at 7:30 a.m., the process of open consultations will begin at the Parlatino so that all sectors can participate and thus work towards an education law that transcends into a state policy. The president of the commission, Jorge Bloise, explained that they have clear and established routes for this reform process, which involves six thematic axes, including the governance of the Ministry of Education, educational quality, equity, teacher training, financing, and management focused on educational decentralization, as well as higher and technical education. Bloise indicated that the event will feature national and international experts, former ministers of education, teachers, directors, and civil society. Additionally, eight sectors will hold working sessions over six meetings, with the right to speak and vote, to decide on these reforms based on consensus proposals. Similarly, visits to all educational regions nationwide will be conducted through constructive dialogue meetings to contribute to the proposal that the Ministry of Education will present. He highlighted that the reforms announced for the country have been under study since 2025 and will address issues such as the debureaucratization of the system, curriculum transformation, connectivity, and current educational infrastructures, among other aspects. The Education, Culture, and Sports Commission of the National Assembly is promoting reforms to the Organic Law of Education, which dates back to 1946. Broad participation from teacher guilds, students at the national level, representatives of parents, rectors of public and private universities; representatives of the private sector, as well as workers, is expected.
