Experts mandated by the UN Human Rights Council stated on Wednesday that the maritime blockade imposed by the United States on Venezuela constitutes an illegal act. According to the experts, this blockade violates international law and the human rights of the Venezuelan population. They emphasized that such measures could lead to a humanitarian crisis, as they impede the delivery of essential goods, including medicine and food. The experts called on the international community to intervene and put an end to this policy, which they described as a form of collective punishment.
