The new issue of the 'Kitab' magazine celebrates the Venezuelan poet, musician, and translator Belinda Ojeda, whose photo graced the cover. Published monthly by the Sharjah Book Authority, the magazine features an extensive interview with the poet. In it, she confirmed that 'Venezuelan poetry is currently experiencing a golden age, teeming with a great diversity of sublime voices and showcasing the authenticity of its great poetic heritage.' When asked about the role of culture in facing American threats to her country, she stated, 'Culture plays a fundamental role in strengthening the national identity and its narrative. From this perspective, it constitutes a force to confront the threats and attacks of American imperialism.' In the interview conducted by the magazine's editor-in-chief, Ali Al-Amri, she added that 'the imperialist goal is to destroy the nation-state, not only from a regional perspective but also from a cultural and symbolic one.' The December 2025 issue, the 86th edition, also includes interviews with Malian writer Ismail Diady Haidara, Emirati novelist Lulwa Al-Mansouri, and Colombian writer Gabriel Eliejo Torres Garcia, nephew of the renowned novelist Gabriel Garcia Marquez.
