Venezuela begins national mobilization in response to US military exercises

The general secretary of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Diosdado Cabello, announced on Monday the start of a permanent national mobilization in rejection of the military exercises being conducted by the United States and Trinidad and Tobago near Venezuelan territory. Cabello denounced that such maneuvers represent a provocation aimed at executing false flag operations to justify an aggression against Venezuela. "These facts confirm the continuous efforts to destabilize Venezuela through both foreign and national actors," Cabello stated. He emphasized the government's constant commitment to safeguarding national security through coordination between civilian and military forces. "North American imperialism, together with the Government of Trinidad and Tobago, has decided to carry out military exercises very close to Venezuelan territory," he said. The leader explained that mass mobilizations of the political organization began in the eastern states of Sucre, Anzoátegui, Nueva Esparta, and Delta Amacuro, and will extend throughout the country to guarantee the defense of the nation and the so-called 'civic-military union.' Cabello highlighted the historical ties between the two Caribbean peoples and sent a message of peace and brotherhood to the Trinidadian people, differentiating their relations from the actions of their government. In another development, Venezuelan authorities arrested three individuals allegedly linked to the CIA, reported the Minister of the Interior, Diosdado Cabello Rondón. During the arrests, mobile phones and CIA operational manuals were seized, Cabello added. The minister indicated that the suspects were involved in a suspected false flag operation in the Caribbean Sea while the United States is conducting military exercises with Trinidad and Tobago. The plan sought to invent an incident that would justify an aggression against Venezuela, Cabello added. The Venezuelan government has information that they plan to 'attack a US military vessel stationed on that island and then blame Venezuela to justify an attack' against the South American country, stated Venezuelan Foreign Minister Yvan Gil in a social media post. 'We work every day to prevent harm to the Venezuelan people,' he concluded.
