During the Munich Security Conference, María Corina Machado and González Urrutia expressed their concern over the situation of the asylum seekers in the Argentine Embassy in Venezuela. Machado recalled the events during the campaign against Nicolás Maduro, stating that the regime acted against her to prevent free expression.
González Urrutia, considered the elected president by certain international sectors, described the conditions in the embassy as "unusual," violating international treaties. In a televised meeting, Nicolás Maduro presented his proposal for constitutional reform for the country, emphasizing democracy and the participation of all sectors in an open and democratic process.
Opposition politicians denounced the terrible conditions in which the asylum seekers live, highlighting the lack of water and the prohibition of visits, as well as the theft of fuses and the lack of maintenance of the power plant. Machado joined the call of the diplomatic bodies to take action regarding this situation considered unheard of on the continent.
