Venezuelan Goalkeeper's Error Leads to Copa Libertadores Draw

Buenos Aires, April 14 (NA) – Venezuelan goalkeeper of Deportivo La Guaira, Jorge Sánchez, starred in an unusual error this Tuesday that led to Bolivar's 1-1 draw in the second round of Group C of the Copa Libertadores. According to the Argentine News Agency, the goalkeeper, who had the ball in his hands, did not notice the presence of an opposing player behind him and, with total confidence, put the ball on the ground. Dorny Romero, at the 34th minute of the second half, attentive and perceptive, took advantage of the goalkeeper's mistake, stole the ball, and scored with a half-turn to equalize the match, with just over 10 minutes left on the clock. In this way, the Bolivian team, led by Argentine coach Flavio Robatto, secured its first point in Group C of the Copa Libertadores, the continent's most important tournament, after a 1-0 loss in the first round against Independiente Rivadavia of Mendoza.
