Venezuelan Youth Mobilized Against Neofascism

The son of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro affirmed that his father remains firm in his convictions after being kidnapped by U.S. elite troops, calling for the defense of national sovereignty.

Venezuelan youth mobilized against neofascism. The son of President Nicolás Maduro stated today that despite the violent kidnapping perpetrated by elite U.S. troops, his father remains firm in his convictions and has reiterated the call to the Venezuelan people for the defense of Venezuela's sovereignty and state resources. In an act of solidarity held this Wednesday in Caracas by organizations affiliated with the Anti-Fascist International, Nicolás Maduro Guerra affirmed that his father has endured with dignity and composure the illegal capture and subsequent imprisonment in the United States, where he was taken in chains under false accusations made by the administration of President Donald Trump. In a live broadcast of his speech, he recalled that the First Lady of Venezuela, Cilia Flores, decided to accompany Maduro during the brutal kidnapping amidst bombings, revealing a gesture of loyalty and love towards her husband, recognized as a "good and honorable man," committed to the principles of the Venezuelan revolution. He also remembered the heroism of more than a hundred Venezuelan soldiers and civilians who fell defending the national territory invaded by foreign troops equipped with high-tech warfare that disabled the radars. Maduro Guerra highlighted that 150 aircraft were used by the United States in that military operation, which has generated and continues to generate worldwide rejection due to its offensive and destabilizing connotations in the hemispheric and global spheres. During the attacks carried out by the U.S. aviation, 85 containers full of supplies for hemodialysis, required by thousands of Venezuelan patients, were destroyed. In turn, deputy Tania Díaz, a leader of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela, called on patriots around the world to unreservedly support the Bolivarian political project and not be misled by cognitive warfare propaganda, which seeks to divide the peoples. "Trust the high command of the Bolivarian revolution, because 'here we are not going to break (surrender) in the war of disinformation and division' orchestrated by imperialist forces." "This is the hour of the peoples and of firmness," Díaz emphasized, identifying as a priority the struggle of the world's nations against fascism, backwardness, and interventionism. Faced with the tough economic, political, and military challenges facing Venezuela, the political leader proposed making Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores living symbols of the struggle against fascism in the region's countries. In recent days, the Acting President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, has called on the population to close ranks against interventionism. The head of state is scheduled to meet with her Colombian counterpart, Gustavo Petro, to promote regional peace against war.
