Caracas, November 26. — Venezuela's Minister of Interior, Justice and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, warned on Tuesday that any attempt at US intervention in the country will be firmly confronted by the Venezuelan people in defense of its sovereignty. "The conquistador delusions that Marco Rubio has here will be shattered," Cabello stated during the March of the Flag and the Sword of the Liberator, held on Tuesday in Caracas, amidst military threats from Washington. According to information obtained by the Argentine News Agency (NA) via Xinhua, the also General Secretary of the ruling United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) maintained that Venezuelan sovereignty will be safeguarded under any circumstances. Furthermore, Cabello warned that if any foreign force enters national territory, it will be stopped by any means possible. In this way, he assured that a territorial violation would trigger an immediate response: "Whoever sets foot on our territory enters a forbidden zone for them, and we are going to defend ourselves with whatever we have," he declared. The spokesperson reiterated that whoever perpetrates an attack on national territory "will be annihilated by our people; annihilated is the term I want to use, because Venezuelan soil is to be respected."
