Stephanie Labrador, daughter of opposition deputy Eduardo Labrador, demands her father's release after six months of arbitrary detention without visits to confirm his health.

Demand for Freedom of Venezuelan Deputy's Daughter

Today marks six months since the Venezuelan regional deputy, Eduardo Labrador, was detained in the state of Zulia, without having had any visits during this entire time. His daughter, Stephanie Labrador, has expressed her concern and demanded the release of her father, whom she considers to be arbitrarily detained.

Stephanie Labrador has expressed her outrage over the situation in which her father finds himself, being unable to contact him to know how he is doing. In her statements, she has highlighted that her father’s detention is unjust and has been carried out irregularly, depriving him of his rights and preventing him from having adequate legal defense.

The young woman has requested Venezuelan authorities to release her father immediately, arguing that his detention lacks legal grounds and merely seeks to silence the voice of a political opponent. Labrador has received expressions of solidarity and support from various organizations and activists advocating for human rights in Venezuela and have urged the authorities to respect due process and guarantee the freedom of all political prisoners in the country.

Eduardo Labrador's situation is just one example of the serious political and social crisis that Venezuela is experiencing, where repression against dissent has intensified in recent years. The international community is closely monitoring these cases and has urged the government of Nicolás Maduro to respect human rights and release all politically imprisoned individuals detained arbitrarily.
