Venezuela has surpassed 8,000 beneficiaries of the Law of Amnesty for Democratic Coexistence, according to data released this Tuesday by the special commission in charge of monitoring this legislation. The president of the Special Commission for the Follow-up of the Law of Amnesty for Democratic Coexistence, deputy Jorge Arreaza, reported that a total of 8,084 people have received full freedoms within the framework of this policy. "We have surpassed 8,000 beneficiaries," indicated the former Foreign Minister Arreaza through his social media account X. Of the total, 302 correspond to people who were deprived of liberty at the time of receiving the benefit, while 7,782 citizens who had precautionary measures moved to a state of full freedom, according to the balance presented. According to information obtained by the Noticias Argentinas agency, the figures represent an increase compared to the report from March 12, when 7,727 beneficiaries were counted, which evidences the continuity of the case review process by the authorities. According to official data, the commission has received more than 11,400 valid applications, which are evaluated to determine their inclusion within the assumptions contemplated in the law. The Law of Amnesty was promoted by the interim president, Delcy Rodriguez, on January 30 and enacted on February 19.
