Primazol President Denies Drug Trafficking Ties

Carlos Eduardo Siu, president of the Venezuelan company Primazol, based in Maracaibo (Zulia state, northwest), denied having ties to drug trafficking or being the target of a U.S. attack. In a video aired on Venezuelan state television (VTV), Siu responded to a series of rumors that had been circulating on social media in recent days after U.S. President Donald Trump vaguely stated that they had carried out an attack on Venezuelan soil. The report, dated from Caracas, describes a confusing episode related to the troop movement ordered by Donald Trump to surround the Caribbean nation, according to the Xinhua report accessed by the Argentine News Agency (NA). He also responded to Colombian President Gustavo Petro, who in a social media post alluded to the unproven U.S. attack. 'President Petro, here we neither manufacture nor pack any kind of narcotics, we need you to please stop tarnishing our name,' he expressed. 'At Primazol, we do not manufacture any type of products; we are importers of raw materials destined for the Venezuelan industry. All our products must be transformed by the country's basic industries,' the businessman specified. He added that there were areas of the company that were not affected by the fire on December 24 and are operational. Regarding the cause of the fire, the website of Venezuelan state television cites that the cause was a short circuit, according to reports from the San Francisco municipality Fire Department, which is part of the Maracaibo metropolitan area.
