Caracas, AFP — President Nicolas Maduro avoided answering a question about the US attack on Venezuelan territory, which Donald Trump mentioned on Monday, but expressed his openness to cooperation with Washington, which has been pressuring Caracas for months. Trump has repeatedly raised the possibility of US intervention in Venezuela. The United States destroyed a pier used by boats suspected of involvement in drug trafficking and is increasing pressure on Venezuela. The United States had previously deployed a fleet of warships in the Caribbean Sea, tightened oil sanctions against the country, and seized at least two tankers carrying Venezuelan crude oil.
